A tapered barrel with an unusually large gap between its two weights — 6.5mm at 22g jumping to 7.45mm at 24g, nearly a full millimetre for two grams.

Most ranges step a tenth or two at a time. This one doesn't, and it matters: the 24g is a substantially more substantial dart in the hand rather than a marginally heavier version of the 22g. Handle both before deciding, because they won't feel like the same barrel.

The taper narrows towards the rear, giving your fingers a defined stop rather than an open barrel to guess at, and the centre-weighted balance keeps it flying level. Grip is a moderate 3 out of 5.

Both sit on a 50.8mm barrel, with short Vecta shafts supplied to bring the flight closer in — a sensible pairing with a barrel whose heavier option carries so much more width.

At 6.5mm the 22g is slim for its weight and keeps three darts compact in the board; at 7.45mm the 24g is a broad barrel with a great deal of surface to hold.
