Wide and firm. At 8.3mm for the 26g the Black Opal is among the broadest barrels in the Mission range, and paired with a 3.5 out of 5 grip it's built for players who want to feel the dart properly rather than balance it.

That width is a choice rather than a limitation. At 95% tungsten Mission could have made this considerably slimmer at the same weight — they've gone for surface instead, which gives you a great deal to locate against and makes picking up the same hold every throw almost automatic. If slim barrels have ever felt vague or fiddly in your hand, this is the answer to that.

The tapered profile narrows towards the rear, giving a defined stop for your fingers, and the 48mm length keeps the whole thing compact.
