Wright changes his setup more often than anyone at his level, which makes a cheap, flexible shaft a sensible choice for him — and the same logic applies to anyone experimenting. Polycarbonate costs little enough that trying a different length is a trivial purchase rather than a decision.

Available in Short (35mm) and Medium (48mm). The shaft acts as a lever between the dart's balance point and the flight. A longer one gives the flight more leverage, so the dart is held more stable and comes into the board flatter. A shorter one hands control back to the barrel — faster, more direct, and sitting more tail-up in the board.

Players who throw hard and hold the barrel forward generally land on short. A gentler throw with more arc, or a grip further back, generally wants medium.
