V-Groove refers to the flight slot — a shaped groove rather than a plain slot, cut to hold the flight more securely than friction alone manages.

That is the most common failure in a match: a flight working loose and rotating, or coming out entirely when struck. Anything that grips it better is worth having.

Aluminium keeps the flight at a fixed angle with no flex, at the cost of bending permanently if hit hard.

Supplied as a set of three.

Available in Short (36mm) and Medium (46mm). This is the fine adjustment between stability and speed. Long puts the flight in charge, steadying the dart and flattening how it lands. Short puts the barrel in charge, giving a faster and more direct delivery.

As a rough guide: fast throw, short shaft. Arced throw, longer shaft. Anything in between is what the intermediate lengths exist for.
